Mexico Calling Plans

Our Mexico Calling Plans are optional calling plans allowing you to make calls to Mexico for a low monthly rate for either 200 or 500 minutes each month depending on the plan you choose.  In limited markets you can choose the Unlimited to Mexico calling plan that includes 250 minutes to cellular phones based in Mexico.

Mexico 200 & 500 Calling  Plans

When you sign up for the Mexico 200 or 500 minute plan you will receive a welcome letter.

On the first day of each billing cycle, 200 or 500 minutes of calling to landline phones in Mexico will be automatically be made available (maximum 200 or 500 minutes per telephone number). You have through the last day of each billing cycle to use the minutes in your account (example: January 3 to February 2).
Call made to cell phones or non-landline phones are outside of the plan and are not charged against the monthly minute allotment. Instead, they are charged at the standard direct dial per minute rate for that call type to that area.

Charter will bill your Phone account either $10.00 for the 200 minute plan or $25.00 each month for the 500 minutes, depending on which option works best for you.

Unused minutes will not roll over into the next month.

You will not be able to refresh your account during the same month once you have used all 200 or 500 minutes. Additional international calls can be made on a rate per minute basis.

All calls are billed at a minimum of one minute increments

The Charter Mexico 200 or 500 plan offers calling to all landline phones in Mexico. Wireless and Satellite phones are not included

Using your Mexico 200 or 500 plan minutes

From you home phone; dial 011 + country code + city code + local number. The first 200 or 500 minutes dialed to a Mexico landline phone will not be billed a rate per minute or connection fee. 

Calls after 200 or 500 minutes will be charged at Charter's low international rates per minute.

Plan Information

How long do I have to use my 200 or 500 minutes?

You have one billing cycle to use all of your minutes. You will receive 200 or 500 minutes on the first day of each billing period, and you have until the last day of the billing period to use all of your minutes. Any unused minutes will expire at the end of the billing period.

Do my unused minutes roll over into the next month?

No, unused minutes do not roll over into the next billing period, and they will expire after the last day of each billing period. At the beginning of each billing period, 200 or 500 minutes will automatically be added to your account.

What countries can I call using this plan?

The Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 includes calling to Mexico landline phones only.

Will the Mexico 200 or 500 plan cover satellite calls to cruise ships?

No, please refer to the Oceanic Satellite System calling rates found here: http://www.charter.com/phone/international (Please select an ocean from the country list).

How soon will I be able to use my Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 once I have signed up?

If you are a new Charter Phone customer, the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 will be available 4 hours from completed service installation. If you are already a current Charter Phone customer, Mexico 200 or 500 calling will become available 4 hours after your order is placed.

Will I be charged connection fees and maintenance fees with the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500?

No. There are no maintenance fees or connection charges. You will only be charged $10.00 each month for the 200 minute plan or $25.00 for the 500 minute plan each month on your Charter Phone statement.

How many minutes will I receive if I sign up for the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 in the middle of the billing period?

You will receive 200 or 500 minutes to use within a billing period, even if you sign up mid-billing period. For example, if your billing cycle is the 1st-31st and you sign up on the 15th, you will receive 200 or 500 minutes in your account. Those minutes must be used by the last day of the billing cycle or they will expire. You will automatically receive another 200 or 500 minutes on the 1st day of the next billing period.

Can I call using my cell phone?

No, the plan will not work through your cell phone. The Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 is only available from your Charter home phone.

Can I use the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 if there is an International Toll Block on my account?

No, you will first need to remove the International Toll Block by calling 1-888-438-2427 and subscribing to the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 plan.

Can I use the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 to call cruise ships?

No, the Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 does not include calls to cruise ships.

How can I make a call to Mexico once I have used up my 200 or 500 minutes for the month?

You can continue to make calls by dialing 011 + country code + city code + local number and you will be charged at Charter’s low international rates per minute

What happens if my monthly minute allowance gets used up while I am on a call?

Your call will continue - there is no need to hang up and redial.  All minutes used over the 500 minute threshold will be billed at standard per minute rates. 

What do I do if I can’t hear the person on the other end of the phone?

Account Information

How do I check my minute balance?

Customers will be responsible for tracking the minutes used in this plan.

Why don’t I see my international call details listed in my Charter Phone statement?

Your call details will not be available on your paper statement. They can be viewed online when you log in to your My Account.

To view account information online, go to the My Account Login page and click on the My Bill & Services Tab, then click on Call Details to view your Charter Mexico Calling Plan 200 or 500 minutes. From there, click on the Account Information link and sign in to your account. Once you have signed in, view call details and billing history.

Account information will not be available until after the billing cycle has completed and customers are responsible for tracking their plan minutes within a billing period.

Rate is in addition to local line and other services. Plan is limited to 200 or 500 minutes per billing period.

Minutes are refreshed on first day of each billing period. Calls to mobile devices are not included. Taxes and fees are extra. Service is not available in all areas. Other restrictions may apply.

Unlimited to Mexico Calling Plan

Unlimited Long Distance to Mexico

Unlimited to Mexico calling plan is currently available to Charter customers in certain areas of Southern California as part of our Unlimited Long Distance Package. To be eligible for this plan you must subscribe to Charter TV, Charter Phone and Charter Internet.  Other restrictions may apply.

  • On the first day of each billing cycle, you will have unlimited landline calling to Mexico and 250 minutes to cellular phone in Mexico.
  • This plan is not available to Price Guarantee Customers.
  • You cannot be enrolled in Mexico 200 or 500 calling plans.
  • Additional cellular minutes bill at standard rates.
  • Must have Unlimited Long Distance Phone Service with another Charter service such as TV or Internet or both.

Using your Unlimited Mexico Calling Plan

From you home phone; dial 011 + country code + city code + local number. All calls to landlines in Mexico and the first 250 minutes to cellular phones in Mexico will not be billed a rate per minute or connection fee.

Calls to cellular phones in Mexico after your first 250 minutes are used will be charged at Charter's low international rates per minute.
