Windows Mobile 7/8 WiFi & Email Connection

Follow the Steps below to connect your Apple iPad to your Charter WiFi and your Charter.net Email account

Wireless Connection

To connect your Windows Mobile 7/8 device to your wireless network:

  1. From the home screen flick left to the Applications list and press Settings Settings icon then WiFi
  2. Make sure that WiFi networking is set to On WiFi set to 'on'
  3. Your windows phone will automatically search for available wireless networks. Locate and select your network name

  1. If you do not use security on your wireless network you will automatically connect. If your wireless network uses security, you will be required to enter the security key (Wireless password)

Note: Tap Show Password to see the characters you are typing

  1. When finished you will be returned to the previous screen and your wireless network will show Connected

Charter Email

  1. From the home screen flick left to the Applications list and press Settings Settings icon
  2. Select Email & Accounts
  3. Select Add an Account
  4. Select Other Account
    • In the Email Address field enter your entire Email address (Example@Charter.net)
    • Enter your Password
  5. Select Sign-In
    • You should see an error saying “We could not find the settings for the account information you entered
  6. Select Advanced
    • In the Incoming Mail Server field enter mobile.charter.net
    • In the Account type field select IMAP
    • In the Username field enter your entire email address (Example@Charter.net)
    • Enter your Password
    • In the Outgoing Mail Server field enter mobile.charter.net
    • Select Outgoing server requires authentication if it does not have a checkmark
  7. Select Advanced Settings
    • Check Require SSL for incoming mail if it is not checked
    • Check Require SSL for outgoing mail if it is not checked
  8. Select Sign In
