There are several reasons you may be experiencing Static/Echo/Interference or Crosstalk on your Charter phone.
Choose this option if you have static/interference on one phone but have a dial tone on other phones in your home.
Choose this if all of your phones have static/interference.
Test the telephone jack by unplugging the problem phone and plugging a phone that is not experiencing static into the jack (Preferably a corded telephone). If you do not hear static on the phone the issue most likely lies with the original phone.

Note: After resetting your MTA it can take 5 minutes or longer for dial tone to be restored. If your MTA also provides internet access you will not be able to connect to the internet while the MTA is resetting.
