Netgear WNDR3800 and 4300

Traffic metering allows you to monitor the volume of Internet traffic passing through your router's Internet port. With the Traffic Meter utility, you can set limits for traffic volume, set a monthly limit, and get a live update of traffic usage.
 
 

General

Router Login

  1. Launch a browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the router
  2. In the address bar type routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com and press Enter

The login window displays:

  1. Enter your user name and password. Note: The user name and password is case sensitive

The default user name is: admin
The default password is: password

  1. Click the OK button

You will be taken to the router’s Home Screen

Setup

Internet Traffic Meter

  1. Log in to the router. Click here for instructions
  2. Click on the Advanced tab
  3. Click Advanced Setup
  4. Click Traffic Meter

Traffic Meter  

  1. Check the Enable Traffic Meter checkbox

Enable Traffic Meter

  1. If you would like to record and restrict the volume of Internet traffic, select the Traffic volume control by radio button. You can select one of the following options for controlling the traffic volume:
  2. No Limit - No restriction is applied when the traffic limit is reached
  3. Download Only - The restriction is applied to incoming traffic only
  4. Both Directions - The restriction is applied to both incoming and outgoing traffic

  1. You can limit the amount of data traffic allowed per month by specifying how many Mbytes per month are allowed or by specifying how many hours of traffic are allowed

  1. Click Apply to save your changes

Traffic Counter

  1. Log in to the router. Click here for instructions
  2. Click on the Advanced tab
  3. Click Advanced Setup
  4. Click Traffic Meter

  1. Check the Enable Traffic Meter checkbox

  1. Set the Traffic Counter to begin at a specific time and date or Click the Restart Counter Now button

  2. Click on the Advanced tab
  3. Click Advanced Setup
  4. Click Traffic Meter

  1. Check the Enable Traffic Meter checkbox

  1. Set up Traffic Control to issue a warning message before the monthly limit of Mbytes or hours is reached. You can select one of the following to occur when the limit is attained:
  2. The Internet LED flashes green or amber
  3. The Internet connection is disconnected and disabled

  1. Click the Traffic Status button to get a live update on Internet traffic status on your router
