California TV All Digital

Charter TV in Burbank, Glendale and Long Beach California is going 100% digital!  All analog broadcast channels will be removed and only the HD & Digital versions of the channels will be available on a rolling schedule each week.  All affected TVs will need Charter-issued digital equipment to view all channels in your lineup.

TVs without Charter-issued digital equipment will lose access to Charter TV. If you already have Charter-issued digital equipment (Set-Top Box or CableCARD) on all of your TVs, you don't need to do anything for the all-digital upgrade. However, if you have TVs that are connected directly to Charter service without digital equipment, you will lose access to Charter on those TVs.

This upgrade will improve your picture and sound quality, enabling Charter to offer you more HD channels and future enhancements such as more On Demand choices. You will experience better picture and sound quality, over 180 HD channels, over 10,000 On Demand choices with 1800+ HD On Demand titles, including movies in 3D and downloadable mobile channel apps.

How to Prepare

Simply add Charter-issued digital equipment (Digital Set-Top Box or CableCARD) to each TV in your home to experience better picture and sound quality, more On Demand choices and more HD channels.

Activating your Charter-issued Set-Top Box

After you have connected your Charter digital set-top box  to your TV, you will need to activate it to complete the installation. If you have received more than one digital set-top box, please connect all of your new digital set-top boxes to the appropriate TVs before calling Charter. All digital set-top boxes will be activated at the same time.

To activate your set-top box simply follow the steps below:

  1. Call 1-877-764-4054
  2. You will then be guided through the activation steps
  3. Typically you will be able to watch your favorite television stations within 10 minutes of activation while your guide continues to load. In rare instances it may take up to 45 minutes to activate your set-top box.
