Skipping or Inconsistent Audio

Netgear WNDR3800 and 4300
If the audio on your TV is skipping or is inconsistent, follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Skipping or Inconsistant Audio - No Digital Receiver

Check behind ALL TV and cable equipment (TV, VCR, DVD, stereo receivers, etc…) and the coax cable at the wall outlet for any loose or damaged connectors. All loose connectors should be hand-tight and damaged connectors replaced.

Skipping or Inconsistant Audio - Digital Receiver

  1. Check behind ALL TV and cable equipment (Digital Set-Top Box, TV, VCR, DVD, stereo receivers, etc…) and the coax cable at the wall outlet for any loose or damaged connectors. All loose connectors should be hand-tight and damaged connectors replaced.
  2. Depending on the model of your Digital Set-Top Box, check the following settings:

Motorola:

  1. Go to the Main Menu on the On-Screen Interactive Guide
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select Audio Setup and set the output to "Optimal Stereo"

MOXI:

  1. Check the Audio Output in the Settings menu for the correct set up

Note:  There are no settings to check for a Cisco/Scientific Atlanta Set-Top Box

Reset/Power-Cycle your Digital Set-Top Box

Motorola and Cisco/Scientific Atlanta:

Reset (power-cycle) all main/secondary set-top box(es) by unplugging them for 15 seconds then plugging them back in. Wait until the clock displays, then turn on the power to the set-top box(es)

MOXI:

Press and hold the Reset/Power button located on the front of the MOXI box
