My Account Security Question Information

Security questions and answers are required when setting up an on line My Account and is a method of authentication which seeks to prove the identity of someone accessing their online account.

If you forget your username and password you will be asked to provide the answer to your security question. You may periodically be asked to update your security question on your profile in your online My Account. For additional information on Security questions please refer to the information below.

Requiring Security Question

A recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Order prohibits Charter from relying on biographical or account based information, like a mother's maiden name, to secure, authenticate or reset your password.

If you forget your My Account password, this security question/answer is used to validate your access and provide an email to update your information.

Missing Security Question/Answer

A recent FCC  Order  prohibits Charter from relying on biographical or account based information, like a mother's maiden name, to  secure, authenticate or reset your password.   We have modified the customer account security question to remove any questions that contained this type of data.  The question you chose was one of those we identified for removal.
