Closed Caption through TV

1. Press the CC button on the remote that came with your TV and turn the closed caption feature ON/ OFF
2. If the remote that came with your TV does not have a CC button, access the TV menu and turn the closed caption feature ON/ OFF

HD/DVR Receivers

Motorola (HD & DVR) Receiver

Motorola HD & DVR receivers support the closed caption feature. Non HD or DVR receivers do not have the closed caption feature. Refer to the closed caption through TV section.

To access the closed captioning feature on an HD/DVR Motorola receiver, you will need to access the User Settings sub menu (The User Setting sub menu is not part of the Main or Quick menu). There are two options for accessing this menu:

Option 1

1. Power ON your television
2. Power OFF the HD/DVR receiver and immediately press the Menu button on the receiver

Option 2

1. Power ON your television and Power ON your HD or HD/DVR Receiver
2. Press the CBL button on the Charter remote
3. Press Power to turn off the receiver
4. Press Menu button and release. (Occasionally Menu must be pressed a 2nd or 3rd time)

When the User Settings sub menu displays, you can utilize the following buttons on your remote:

1. Press the Up and Down  buttons to place the cursor next to CLOSED CAPTION
2. Press the OK/Select button to change to Enabled or Disabled
3. Press the Power button to exit
4. Press the Power button again to turn the receiver back on

Cisco/Scientific Atlanta (HD & DVR) Receiver

Cisco/Scientific Atlanta HD & DVR receivers support the closed caption feature. Non HD or DVR receivers do not have the closed caption feature. Refer to the closed caption through TV section.

1. Press Menutwice on the remote to enter the Quick Settings Menu
2. Press A to view More Settings. You will now see the General Settings window
3. Press the Up and Down  buttons to locate the Closed Captioning preference in the Language/Idioma area

4. Press the OK/Select button
5. Press the Up and Down  buttons to set the desired option
6. Press the OK/Select button to accept the new settings
7. Press Exit to exit the settings menu

Scientific Atlanta (HD & DVR) Receiver

Scientific Atlanta HD & DVR receivers support the closed caption feature. Non HD or DVR receivers do not have the closed caption feature. Refer to the closed caption through TV section.

1. Press Menutwice on the remote to enter the Quick Settings Menu
2. Press A to view More Settings. You will now see the General Settings window
3. Press the Up and Down  buttons to locate the Closed Captioning preference in the Language area

4. Press the OK/Select button
5. Press the Up and Down  buttons to set the desired option
6. Press the OK/Select button to accept the new settings
7. Press Exit to exit the settings menu

Moxi DVR Receiver

1. Press the MOXI button to enter the Guide
2. Go to the Settings category
3. Select Closed Caption and press OK

4. Use the arrow keys to Enable/Disable Closed Captioning

5. If the settings prompt you to select Basic or Digital Service or a Preferred Language, select the applicable service type and/or language from the options given to complete the Closed Caption setting

Does your Motorola receiver have an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connection? An HDMI connection is used to transmit Video and Audio to High-Definition television sets using a single cable.

Motorola (HD & DVR) Receiver with HDMI Connection

1. Press the Menu button twice.
2. Access the Setup Menu.
3. Select Closed Captioning Setup.

4. For the Closed Captioning Setup screen, use the arrow keys to:
   • Select either On to enable or Off to disable the Closed Captioning field.
   • Select either On to enable or Off to disable the Closed Captioning Background.

NOTE: The Background is a black highlight that may make the experience of viewing Closed Captioning easier for viewers.

5. Press Exit
