Phishing Scams
"Phishing" is a form of Internet fraud that utilizes spoofed e-mails to lead the recipient to a fake website. The fake website is designed to trick the recipient into disclosing financial information such as credit card numbers, account usernames, passwords and social security numbers.
Charter Communications believes in protecting the privacy of our customers. As a general policy, Charter would never request sensitive account information such as account numbers, user names or passwords via unsecured channels such as e-mail.

Reporting Phishing Scams to Charter Communications
If you receive an e-mail claiming to be from Charter Communications requesting you to update sensitive account information, do not reply to the e-mail as it is likely a phishing scam. Instead, report it to Charter Communications for investigation.
Charter.net Email Users
If you check your e-mail through charter.net:
You can choose to filter certain messages to your Junk Mail folder. This will keep potentially harmful messages out of your inbox. It is recommended, however, that you keep the default setting, Never deliver Junk Mail, for preventative purposes.
To report a message that you believe to be a Phishing Scam, click the Junk Mail button located in the menu bar.
Mail Client Users
If you use a 3rd party e-mail clients such as: Microsoft Outlook® Outlook Express®, Windows Mail®, etc.:
Send the potential phishing scam to Charter for review. To do this, DO NOT alter the e-mail and send it in its entirety including the e-mail header to phishing@charter.net.
