Disabling the Vista Firewall

Click on the start button on the bottom left corner of the screen. From here we will select ‘Control Panel’ from the right menu bar.

As with the Windows XP control panel, Vista offers two separate looks for viewing the control panel; Classic and Vista. Determine which ‘look’ you have and continue.

The default view for vista is shown below:

• From Vista view select “Security”
• From Classic view select “Security center”.

• Choose the Security or Security Center control panel. (Name depends on the control panel view.)
• The Security Panel will display. If the firewall is on, you can click “Off” to turn it off.
