Abbreviations for Common Online Chat Lingo
Many people who chat online or send text messages knows that LOL means "laugh out loud" or BTW means "by the way". But do you know what IDK or TOY means? How about P911 or F2F? Well if you don't, find out by looking at the list of the most commonly used online chat abbreviations below (in no particular order).
- A/S/L – age, sex, location
- FMTYEWTK – far more than you ever wanted to know
- H&K – hug and kiss
- ILU – I love you
- IRL – in real life
- KIT – keep in touch
- KOL – kiss on lips
- LTR – long term relationship
- NAZ – name, address, zip
- NP – nosy parents
- P911 – my parents are coming
- PA – parent alert
- PAL – parents are listening
- PANB – parents are nearby
- PIR – parents in room
- PM – private message
- POS – parents over shoulder
- RL – real life
- SETE – smile ear to ear
- SMEM – send me an email
- TOY – thinking of you
- XOXO – hugs and kisses
- YTTT – you telling the truth
- BBIAF – be back in a few
- IDK – I don’t know or I don’t care
- F2F – face to face
- FITB – fill in the blanks
- JTLYK – just to let you know
- LDR – long distance relationship
- MA – mature audience
