When installing new security or anti-virus software on your Windows 7 computer, you may have to temporarily disable your Windows firewall. The following instructions will help you through this process.
Locate the Windows Menu in the bottom left corner of the task bar.
Select Control Panel from the Menu.

Windows 7 will allow you to view the Control Panel invarious formats.
When selecting “View By”, you can view by Category, SmallIcons, or Large Icons.
Click the Security icon to proceed.

This screen will show the status of the Firewall. SelectTurn Windows Firewall on or off on the left to adjust the Firewall.

Select the Off option to turn off the Windows Firewall.Click OK to save changes.

Notifications can also be managed from this screen.
