General Information
HBO GO and MAX GO offer an exciting new way to experience HBO and Cinemax right on your computer through your high-speed Internet connection
The online HBO GO/ MAX GO content is free when you subscribe to our HBO/Cinemax TV service.
HBO GO and MAX GO offer you the convenience of accessing hundreds of movies and shows each month online..
You can watch streaming video of your favorite HBO Original Series, blockbuster movies, sports, comedy and documentaries from your computer—whenever you want with little or no buffering.
The HBO GO mobile app is also available for iPad, iPhone and Android mobile devices! (Minimum 3G connection required)

Access/Log In
Login Requirements
You will need to use your Charter.net email address, password and service address zip code to login to HBO Go and/or MAX Go.
Note: If you have not created a Charter.net Email address you MUST set one up to access HBO Go and MAX Go.
You can create up to 10 Logins with HBO GO and Max GO (1 Head of Household and 9 Child logins).
To create the Child logins simply create an additional Charter.net Email address. Up to 3 devices can stream content at the same time.
If you have a Charter Email Address you can access / log in to HBO/MAX GO from:
Note: You will be unable to access these sites on an iPhone or iPad due to these devices not supporting Adobe Flash. You must access HBO/MAX GO through their mobile apps
If you have a Charter My Account and do not have a Charter Email Address.
You will need to create one:
- Login to your My Account
- Click 'Online Tools'
- Click 'Add New Email'
- Enter Email Address and Password click 'Save'

If you do not want to create a Charter My Account you can still get a Charter Email Address by chatting live or calling us at 1-888-483-2427 and we will create one for you.
Forgot Username/Password
Your username for HBO Go and MAX Go will be your full Charter.net Email address. You can find your Charter.net Email address by logging in to your Charter My Account and clicking the Online Tools tab. Your Email address(s) will be listed on the Email Address tab.
If you forgot the password for your Charter.net Email address you can reset it on this tab by clicking the CHANGE link.
Note: If you have not created a Charter.net Email address you MUST set one up to access HBO Go and MAX Go.

The 1st time you visit hbogo.com or maxgo.com you will be asked to choose your television provider from a drop down list.
- Choose Charter
- Click Continue
- Enter your Charter.net Email Address/Password and Service Address Zip Code and Log In

- You will need your 16 digit account number –located in the upper right hand corner of your statement.
- You will need your 4 digit security code–located in the upper right hand corner of your statement.

Forgot Username/Password
Your login for HBO Go and MAX Go will be the same username/password you use to login to your Charter My Account.

If you are trying to retrieve a username/password for a CHILD account:
On this screen you can:
- View your active Child login usernames
- Change your Child login usernames
- Delete your Child login accounts
- Create new Child login accounts (Up to 10)

- Choose Charter
- Click Continue
- Enter your My Account Username, Password and Service Address Zip Code and Log In

HBO GO Mobile App
HBO GO and MAX GO are also available as an app for mobile devices! Watch on the go! It's all the same great HBO and Cinemax content that's available online.
HBO GO and MAX GO are supported on:
- iPhone 3GS and above
- iPod touch 3rd generation and above
- iPad 1 and above (iOS 3.2 or higher)
For Android devices, HBO GO and MAX GO require Android version 2.1 or above Note: Max Go is NOT available for Android tablets

Accessing HBO GO on your Samsung Internet Connected TV
Locate and download the HBO GO application from your Samsung Marketplace and follow the set up instructions
Activating or pairing HBO GO on a Samsung Internet Connected TV
- Launch HBO GO on your device and click the "Activate Your Device" button to get your activation code.
- Using the browser on your computer or mobile device, navigate to www.hbogo.com/activate to select your TV provider.
- Enter your activation code and click the "Activate" button. If you see a "Success!" message, then you’re
ready to start streaming HBO GO!
Note: At this time MAX GO is not available on Samsung Smart TVs.

HBO GO on Xbox 360
Stream your favorite HBO® original series, movies and more, right to the big screen through your Xbox 360. There is no additional cost to view through your Xbox when you subscribe to HBO as part of your Charter TV services.
Note: An Xbox Live Gold membership is required to use HBO GO on your Xbox 360
Access HBO GO through Xbox 360:
- From the Xbox 360® dashboard, navigate to the Apps then to the Apps market.
- Launch HBO GO on your device, sign in to your Xbox LIVE® account and select the "Activate Your Device" button to get your activation code.
- Navigate to www.hbogo.com/activate to select your TV provider.
- Enter your activation code and click the "Activate" button. If you see a "Success!" message, then you’re ready to start streaming on HBO GO!

HBO GO on Roku
HBO GO is available through all Roku devices.
To enable HBO GO, open the HBO GO app on your Roku.
A message appears instructing you to activate HBO GO through hbogo.com/activate. Once you provide a valid activation code, a success message appears and you may begin using HBO GO on your Roku.
Note: At this time MAX GO is not available on the Roku

System Requirements
HBO GO/MAX GO requires the following minimum system requirements:
- An Adobe Flash Player with version 10.2 or higher.
- An Internet connection of 3.0Mbps or greater (for HD content).
- For Windows: An Intel Pentium 4 3GHz processor (or equivalent) with 512MB RAM/128MB of VRAM. For Windows: Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or greater or Google Chrome 3.0 or greater.
- For a Macintosh: An Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor, 512MB of RAM/128MB of VRAM.
- For a Mac OS X: Safari 3.0 or greater or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or greater.

HBO GO/MAX GO Online Parental Controls
The Charter Head of Household account can set the viewing permissions for all account holders by visiting http://www.charter.net/videoparentalcontrols. By default, all sub or child accounts are set to TV-14 and TV-PG. Please note, parental control settings may take 5 minutes to take effect.
Note: If you are not logged in to Charter.net you will be prompted to login first.

Troubleshooting
Can't Login
Validate and or Check the following:
- You have HBO/Cinemax as part of your TV service
- Make sure you are logging in with your Charter.net email address, password and service address zip code
- If your internet and TV services are billed on two different statements, you will need to use your My Account login to access your HBO Go or MAX Go
Mobile Device and tablets have the same login requirements.
If you are still unable to log in please contact us.
Error message on HBO GO/MAXGO.com
You will receive an error message when visiting HBO GO.com and or MAXGO.com if our records indicate you do not currently subscribe to Charter TV with HBO and Cinemax.
Please contact us if you feel your received this message in error or you wish to order these services.
