Effective September 6, Charter will no longer sell TiVo Premiere from Charter service to customers. We are currently evaluating the integration of TiVo software and other software into our next-generation video delivery platform. Pandora® Internet Radio
Pandora is a free service that lets you create custom Internet radio stations personalized just for you, playing only the music you love! Just tell Pandora one of your favorite songs, artists, or composers, and it will create a radio station that explores that kind of music. You can even create stations based on genre (rock, pop, dance, show tunes, classical). Pandora plays all your current and old favorites and introduces you to new songs you’ll love. Simply follow the instructions below with either the SD (Standard) menu or the HD (High Definition) menu.
Creating a Pandora Account
If you already have a Pandora account, you can skip this section.
If you've never used Pandora, write down your unique Pandora activation code, which is located in the Pandora feature on your TiVo Premiere. On your Mac or PC's web browser, enter this activation code on pandora.com/tivo and follow the on-screen directions to create a new account.
Setting up Pandora on your TiVo Premiere
- From TiVo Central®, do one of the following:
- On TiVo with HD menus: Select 'Music & Photos' > 'Pandora'.

- On TiVo with SD menus: Select 'Music, Photos, & Showcases' > 'Pandora.'

- Write down the activation code that is displayed on the next screen.
- On your PC or Mac, go to www.pandora.com/tivo and enter the code.
- Congratulations! You're ready to use Pandora on TiVo!
Creating Stations
To listen to music on Pandora, you'll need to create personalized "stations." You may have already created stations on Pandora.com, and if so, these stations will automatically appear on Pandora on TiVo. You can also create stations right on your TiVo Premiere and they will also appear on other devices you use to access Pandora.
Here's how:
- From TiVo Central®, do one of the following:
- On TiVo with HD menus: Select 'Music & Photos' > 'Pandora'.

- On TiVo with SD menus: Select 'Music, Photos, & Showcases' > 'Pandora.'

- Select "Get Started."
- Do one of the following:
- Select "Create my own station." Then enter the name of a favorite artist, song, or composer, and Pandora will create a radio station featuring that music and more like it.
- Select "Pick from genre station." This option allows you to create a station by choosing a category and subcategory of music. For example, you might choose the category "Pop" and the subcategory "British Invasion" or the category "Jazz" with the subcategory "Western Swing."
- A station will be created and added to your Pandora station list.

Listening to music
Once you've created stations, you're a remote click away from personalized radio.
- When you enter Pandora on your TiVo Premiere or add a station, the first custom station in your station list will begin playing automatically. Information about the song that is currently playing is displayed at the top right of the screen.
- To play music on a different station, highlight the station you want to hear and press PLAY
button on your TiVo remote.
- To hear a mix of music from all stations, select "Quick Mix" at the top of your station list.

Accessing More Options
You can get details about a song that’s playing or explore other options by highlighting the station in the station list and pressing the SELECT button
on your TiVo remote.
- Learn why a song was selected. Press the INFO button
button on your TiVo remote.
- Bookmark the song or artist that's playing.
- Create a new station based on the song or artist that's playing.
- Take the song out of rotation by selecting "I’m tired of this song."
- Add variety to your station by entering the name of another artist song or composition. Pandora will add music with similar qualities to this station.
- Delete the station.

How to stream music from your PC or Mac
Use the TiVo Desktop application to stream your MP3 music library from your PC or Mac to your TiVo Premiere
To stream music from your computer, you'll first need to "publish" the music you want to hear. Publishing your music means making MP3 files available over your home network to your TiVo Premiere. Publishing does not copy music files to your TiVo Premiere, so published music does not use any of your box's recording space.
Publishing music with TiVo Desktop (PC)
To publish a playlist or folder of music on your PC, follow the steps below.
Note: TiVo Desktop works with music in the MP3 format, and with playlists in the following formats used by common PC music players: M3U, PLS, ASX, and B4S.
- Open TiVo Desktop and select the Publish Media icon.
- Click the "Music" tab, then click "Add Music."

- Navigate to the folder containing the playlist or folder of music you want to publish. When you select a folder, any MP3 files within that folder are listed in the right frame of the "Add Music" window.
- To publish a whole folder of music, select the folder and click "Add." To publish individual MP3 files, select them from the list on the right, then click "Add."
Note: To unpublish music files, select the files you want to unpublish and click the "Remove" button. These files will no longer be accessible from your TiVo Premiere, but they will remain on your computer.
Publishing music with TiVo Desktop (Mac)
To publish a playlist or folder of music on your Mac, follow the steps below.
Note: TiVo Desktop works with music in the MP3 format, and with playlists in the following formats used by common Mac music players: M3U, PLS, ASX, and B4S.
- From the Apple menu, click "System Preferences."

- Under "Other," click "TiVo Desktop."
- Click "Start" to begin publishing content.
- Click the "Music" tab, then click "Publish My Music."

- To publish all of your iTunes library, select "Publish My Entire iTunes Library."
- To publish only some of your playlists, select "Publish Only These Playlists," and then select each playlist you want to publish.
Note: To unpublish music files, select the files you want to unpublish and click the Remove button. These files will no longer be accessible from your TiVo Premiere, but they will remain on your computer.
Streaming music on your TiVo Premiere
To listen to music on your TiVo Premiere:
- Go to TiVo Central and do one of the following:
- On TiVo Premiere with HD menus: select "Music & Photos."

- On all other TiVo Premieres or on TiVo Premiere with SD menus: select "Music, Photos, & Showcases."

- Select your music on your computer.

- You will see any playlists or folders that you have published.

- Highlight one and press PLAY. In a few seconds, music starts playing. After the first song ends, the second song in the playlist or folder begins.

Changing music play options
The "Music play options" screen lets you choose how music plays on your TiVo Premiere.
- Select the music you want to hear.
- Highlight "Play," then "Options," and then press SELECT.
- Shuffle. When shuffle is on, your TiVo Premiere plays songs in the selected playlist or folder in random order. When this option is off, your TiVo Premiere plays songs in a folder alphabetically by file name, and songs in a playlist in the order shown on the screen.
- Repeat. When repeat is on, your TiVo Premiere plays songs in the selected playlist or folder repeatedly. You can choose to repeat all songs, or just one. When this option is turned off, your TiVo Premiere plays the entire playlist or folder only once.
- Include Subfolders. When this option is on, your TiVo Premiere plays:
- All the songs in the selected folder.
- All the songs in other playlists or folders inside the selected folder.
- When "Include Subfolders" is turned off, your TiVo Premiere does not automatically play songs in other playlists or folders within the selected folder.
