How to view photos from your PC or Mac
Use the TiVo Desktop software application to view slideshows of photos from your PC or Mac on your TiVo Premiere.
To view photos on your TiVo Premiere, you'll first need to "publish" the photos you want to see. Publishing your photos means making photo files available over your home network to your TiVo Premiere. Publishing does not copy photo files to your TiVo Premiere, so published photos do not use any of your box's recording space.
Note: TiVo Desktop works with photos in the following formats: BMP, TIFF, DIB, GIF, JPG, and PNG.
Publishing your photos with TiVo Desktop (PC)
- Open TiVo Desktop and select the "Share Music, Photos, & Video" icon

- Click the "Photos" tab, then click "Add Photos."
- Navigate to the folder containing the photos you want to publish. When you select a folder, any photo files within that folder are listed in the right frame of the Add Photos window.
- To publish a whole folder of photos, select the folder and click "Add." To publish individual photo files, select them from the list on the right, then click "Add."
Note: To unpublish photo files, select the files you want to unpublish and click the "Remove" button. These files will no longer be accessible from your TiVo Premiere, but they will remain on your computer.
Publishing your photos with TiVo Desktop (Mac)
- From the Apple menu, click "System Preferences."
- Under "Other," click "TiVo Desktop."
- Click "Start" to begin publishing content.
- Click the "Photos" tab, then click "Publish My Photos."
- To publish all of your iPhotos albums and photos, select "Publish My Entire iPhoto Library."
- To publish only some of your photo albums, select "Publish Only These Albums," and then select each album you want to publish.
Note: To unpublish photo files, select the files you want to unpublish and click the "Remove" button. These files will no longer be accessible from your TiVo Premiere, but they will remain on your computer.
Viewing your photos on your TiVo Premiere
- Go to TiVo Central and do one of the following:
- On TiVo Premiere with HD menus: select "Music & Photos."
- On TiVo Premiere with SD menus: select "Music, Photos, & Showcases."
- Select your photos on your computer. (Your selection will vary depending on how your computer is named.)
- You will see any folders you have published. Do one of the following:
- To view a slideshow of photos, highlight the folder containing the photos you want to see, and press PLAY.
- To view individual photos within a folder, highlight the folder containing the photos you want to see, and press SELECT. Navigate to the photo you want to view and press SELECT again. You'll see options for viewing the photo, including rotating options and the option to view a slideshow of all photos in this folder. (You can also play a slideshow by highlighting any photo and pressing PLAY instead of SELECT).
Note: Photos display in the slide show in alphabetical order by file name.
Changing slide show options
To choose how photos display on your TiVo Premiere:
- Highlight a photo or folder and press SELECT.
- Select 'Play Slide Show' > 'Options.' The Slide Show Options screen lets you change the following options:
- Slide Delay determines the time to display each photo before going to the next.
- Shuffle displays the contents of the selected folder in random order. When this option is turned off, the TiVo Premiere plays the folder's photos alphabetically by file name, as shown in the grid on the screen.
- Repeat displays the contents of the selected folder repeatedly. When this option is turned off, the TiVo Premiere displays the folder's photos only once.
Note: To set slideshow options while viewing a slideshow, press ENTER.

How to view photos on Picasa Web Albums on your TiVo Premiere
Picasa Web Albums is Picasa's newest feature, designed to help users post and share their photos quickly and easily on the web. Now you can use your TiVo Premiere to access photos stored in your Picasa Web Albums.

Access your Picasa Web Albums from your TiVo Premiere
View slideshows of photos you store on Picasa. Here's how:
Create a free account on Google's Picasa Web Albums.
Upload your photos.
Go to TiVo Central and do one of the following:
On TiVo Premiere with HD menus: select "Music & Photos."
On TiVo Premiere with SD menus: select "Music, Photos, & Showcases."
Select "Photos & Slideshows."
If you're already signed in, select 'My Photos' > 'My Picasa Web Albums' to view your photos. If you're not yet signed in, select 'My Photo Accounts' > 'Sign in to Picasa.'
View your photos.
Viewing public photos
You don't need a Picasa account to browse and view public photos from your TiVo Premiere.
- Search for keywords to find interesting photos, and bookmark photos or albums (by pressing RECORD on your TiVo remote) to view them later.
- Press PLAY on your TiVo remote while viewing albums to play a slideshow.

Photobucket is the most popular site on the Internet for uploading, sharing, linking, and finding photos, videos, and graphics. Now you can use your TiVo Premiere to access photos stored in your Photobucket account.
To sign up, visit photobucket.com to create a free account and start uploading photos.
Access your Photobucket account from your TiVo Premiere
View slideshows of photos you store on Photobucket. Here's how:

Upload your photos.
