Follow the Steps below to connect your Dell Wireless Printer to your Charter WiFi.
Even though the printer will be used wirelessly it is recommended to install it using a USB cable first then setting up the printer for a wireless connection.
- Click USB cable.
- Connect the USB cable from the computer to the printer following the instructions on the screen, click Continue.
- (It may take a few minutes for the drivers and hardware to be installed)
- If no beeps are heard and the hardware installation bubbles do not appear, click "I connected the cable but cant click Continue" for additional information.
- If the new hardware wizard window opens, click Cancel)
If the Wireless Network Name Appears in the List
- Click on your network, then click Continue
- Enter your WiFi password (If applicable) then click Continue
- Review and make sure the settings are correct (If not, click back to make the changes), then click Continue. (The printer is configured and connects to the wireless network)
- The Allow Dell Software window may appear, if so read the instructions, write down any notes needed, then click OK
- When instructed remove the USB cable from the computer and printer
- Click Finish
The printer is now connected to the wireless network. (The installation process is complete)
If the Wireless Network Name Does Not Appear in the List
- Click Unlisted Network
- Enter your Network Name then click Continue
- Select the type of Network Security the wireless router has, then click Continue
- Enter your WiFi password (If applicable) then click Continue
- Review and make sure the settings are correct (If not, click back to make the changes), then click Continue. (The printer is configured and connects to the wireless network)
- The Allow Dell Software window may appear, if so read the instructions, write down any notes needed, then click OK
- When instructed remove the USB cable from the computer and printer
- Click Finish
The printer is now connected to the wireless network. (The installation process is complete)
