Follow the Steps below to connect your Mac OSX device to your Charter WiFi and your Charter.net Email account.
Wireless Connection
To connect your Mac OSX device to your Charter WiFi, please follow the steps below:
- Click on the AirPort Utility
in the upper, right corner of the screen
- Click on the name of the wireless network you wish to join
- If the network is secured, it will ask you for the wireless password of the network
- Enter the wireless password and click the OK button
- The AirPort icon will turn black
and it will display the signal strength of the network with the curved bars of the icon
- You should now be connected
Charter Email
To add a new account in Apple Mail, please follow the steps below:
- Start Apple Mail
- Click on the Mail menu then select Preferences
- Click on Accounts in the toolbar
- Click the plus sign (+) button at the bottom left
- In the popup window enter your Full Name, Charter Email address, and Password
- Enter the following information:
- Account Type - Select IMAP
- Description - Description of your Email account
- Incoming Mail Server - imap.charter.net
- Username - Enter your full Email address
- Password - Your password should automatically populate in this field.
- Click Continue
- Enter smtp.charter.net in the Outgoing Mail Server box and check Use only this server
- If checked, uncheck Use Authentication
- Click Continue
- Check the box next to Take account online then click Create
