Scientific Atlanta Receiver Error Codes

You may receive an error message/code while viewing TV or ordering Video On Demand (VOD).  Some errors can be resolved by following the steps associated with the message/code.  Choose an error message/code from the list below and follow the instructions.

Often times an error code can be cleared by power-cycling your receiver. Unplug the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

If the following steps do not resolve your issue please chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing.

Error Codes

ER00

If you see this error on your TV please chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing

ER01

This error means a test of the internal DRAM failed. If this is the first time you are seeing this error there should be no issues.

The error code should disappear from the box on its own, but if it does not  try pressing the CBL button and then the EXIT button on the remote to clear the LED display.

ER02

ER09

Send a refresh signal to your receiver. Click here for instructions on sending a signal to your receivers.

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error 0576

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error 0867

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error 161-xxx (xxx could consist of any 3 digit number such as 105, 140, etc…)

Error Fr.000

This indicates that the digital receiver is currently downloading software. DO NOT reboot or remove the power from the receiver. If the error code persists for more than 30 minutes chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing

Error HAL2

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error d.000

This indicates that the digital receiver is currently downloading software. DO NOT reboot or remove the power from the receiver. If the error code persists for more than 30 minutes chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing

Error AULD

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error BR.XX – ER.XX

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
 

Error CC01

Error CLR

Error Messages

Error FAIL

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

Error FLASH ERASE

This indicates that the digital receiver is currently downloading software. DO NOT reboot or remove the power from the receiver. If the error code persists for more than 30 minutes chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing.

Guardian Mode (Black Screen with Text in White Letters)

This indicates the digital receiver is receiving a software download, but if there has been no change to this screen for several hours it may indicate there is an issue with the receiver receiving the download.
If this is the first time you are seeing this error:

  1. Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in
  2. Wait one hour for the download to complete

If after 1 hour the download has not completed and the on screen message is still present, chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing

Explore Advanced Services Are Temporarily Unavailable

If you are seeing this message on your TV:

  1. Power off and then power back on the receiver by using either the Charter remote control (press the CBL button and then the Power button) or pressing the power button directly on the receiver itself. If this works, you should be returned to the Explorer screen and then see data being loaded.
  2. Check behind ALL TV and cable equipment (cable box, TV, VCR, DVD, stereo receivers, etc) and the coax cable at the wall outlet for any loose or damaged connectors
  3. Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

E201

  1. Login to your My Account and verify your account is active
  2. Confirm you subscribe to the level of service you are trying to access
  3. Verify there are no past due balances

If this is the first time you are seeing this error wait at least 2 hours and then try re-ordering the program/event again. If after 2 hours you are still seeing this error, chat or call us at 1-888-438-2427 and provide the advisor with the specific error code you are seeing

E209

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

E210

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

E211

This error is generated due to the popularity of the program/event you are trying to order. Try re-ordering again, either immediately or at a later time. It may take several attempts before their order is successful.

E212

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

E213

Power-cycle your receiver by unplugging the power cord from the back of the receiver, wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
