Follow the Steps below to connect your Android phone to your Charter WiFi and your Charter.net Email account
Wireless Connection
Note: The following screenshots are just an example. Icons and specific verbiage can vary depending on device manufacturer and android operating system versions.
- Tap Settings (Depending on your Android version, the Settings icon may look different but should be similar to the images below)



- Tap Wireless & Networks

- Tap Wi-Fi settings (If Wi-Fi is not checked, tap to enable)

- A list of available wireless networks will display. Select your Network Name. Charter WiFi in this example

- Enter your WiFi password and tap Connect. If your wireless network is not secure, you will not be prompted to enter a password and will automatically connect. Forgot WiFi password?

Charter Email
Note: The following screenshots are just an example. Icons and specific verbiage can vary depending on device manufacturer and android operating system versions. Click here for a list of Charter’s mobile Email settings.
- Access the Mail application. (Do not choose "Gmail")
- Select "Add Account".
- Select "IMAP or Other/POP3". Note: This choice varies between firmware versions.
- Enter your full Charter.net Email address.
- Tap Next - Note: If your android automatically configures your settings, access the "Account Settings" and verify that the correct ones were applied. If they do not match the settings below, correct them to the following:
- Select IMAP Note: Selecting POP will not allow mail to be downloaded to the device.
- Enter the following information:
- Server Name: mobile.charter.net
- Port: 993
- Security Type: SSL
- Tap Next

- Enter the following Outgoing information:
- Server Name: mobile.charter.net
- Port: 587
- Security Type: SSL - Note: Your device may ask to sign-in to send messages. Select "Require sign-in" to perform this step automatically
- Tap Next
- Enter the desired Display name for the account
- Tap Finish Setup. The mail account should connect and verify server acceptance. Once verified, the mail account can be used normally.
General Mobile Settings
These settings MUST be used in order to send and receive Email on your Android phone using your Charter.net Email address. Using settings other than these will result in Emails not syncing properly and/or failure to send and receive Email.
- Email Address: Your full Charter.net Email address
- Username: Your full Charter.net Email address
- Password: The password you use to login to your Email account
- SSL: This setting must be On for both SMTP and IMAP
- Protocol: IMAP (Not POP)
- Incoming Email Server (IMAP server): mobile.charter.net
- Port: 993
- Outgoing Email Server (SMTP server): mobile.charter.net
- Port: 587
