This article will assist you in determining which operating system you are running. Select Windows or Macintosh below for steps relating to that platform
Windows
To see which version of Microsoft Windows is installed on your computer follows the steps below.
If you see a start screen that resembles the below picture you are using Windows 8.

If you do not see a screen similar to this on the task bar at the bottom of your screen, you will see a Start button or a Windows Logo button .
Click on the button below that you see in your taskbar


Start Button 
- Click the Start button

- Click Run

- In the Open box, type "winver" and then click OK

- The popup window shows your operating system version

- Click the Windows Logo button

- In the Search box, type "winver" and press Enter

- The popup window shows your operating system version

To see which version of Mac OSX is installed on your computer:
- From the Apple menu select About This Mac
