Charter Amplifier / Signal Booster Overview

An amplifier, sometimes referred to as a signal booster, is an electrical device installed inside a customer’s home to increase cable signal level to outlets. When needed, an amplifier is installed in a customer’s home at the time of install or via a separate service visit.

Increasing the cable signal level is sometimes necessary when one or more of the following cause signal loss:

  • more than 5 outlets are activated within a home, regardless of the type of service
  • long cable runs are needed
  • multiple splitters are used
  • cable plant issues

  1. Coax Cable input
  2. Grounding connector
  3. Power LED
  4. VOIP or Data Port
  5. Booster Output Ports
